We strongly recommend that all guests bring gear to protect against rain and cold. In the Allgäu region, temperatures can drop surprisingly fast at night—even in the height of summer. At an altitude of nearly 1,000 meters, a downslope wind in the evening can feel like a stiff breeze. We ask that you please do not use umbrellas, as they pose a significant risk of injury and obstruct visibility. A poncho is a perfect, practical alternative; this foldable, featherlight garment is not only easy to carry but also offers the best protection.
Travel advice: Due to a partial closure of the Lech Bridge (access road from Füssen towards Hohenschwangau), there will be increased traffic congestion and disruption from May until, it is expected, August. Please allow plenty of time for your journey.
