The Lake Constance Philharmonic (formerly the South-West German Philharmonic Orchestra of Constance) is one of the largest cultural institutions in south-west Germany. At the heart of the orchestra’s work are the Philharmonic Concerts at the Konzil in Constance. Its repertoire ranges from the Viennese Classical period through the Romantic era to world premieres of contemporary music. The range of concert programmes is complemented by target-group-specific offerings in the field of music education (eduart) and numerous chamber concerts featuring members of the Lake Constance Philharmonic. The programme is rounded off by special concerts and series. The orchestra performs on the most beautiful open-air stage on Lake Constance, the island of Mainau, as well as in the Stadtgarten, with the free concert Klassik am See to mark the end of the season each year. With more than 60 permanent musicians, the orchestra reaches around 80,000 people through over 100 concerts a year.

Gabriel Venzago has been Principal Conductor of the Lake Constance Philharmonic since January 2023; Dr Hans Hofmann has been leading the orchestra since July 2024.

The Lake Constance Philharmonic Orchestra will perform the concert on 31 July 2026
