From 29 July to 2 August, the courtyard of Neuschwanstein Castle became a meeting place for international classical music stars. Under the expert artistic direction of Trixi Steiner and Matthias Greving, Neuschwanstein Konzerte gGmbH presented world-class ensembles and artists – including the Deutsche Kammerphilharmonie Bremen, the Munich Symphony Orchestra, the Munich Motet Choir, the Quintet l’Orchestre de Chambre de Toulouse, Jonas Kaufmann, Pretty Yende, Jochen Rieder, Julia Fischer, Louis Philippson, Esther Abrami, Christine Allado, Laura Dawkes, Trevor Dion Nicholas, Dean John-Wilson, Matt Dunkley, Piotr Beczała, Olga Peretyatko, Nadezhda Karyazina and Andreas Klippert. Against the unique backdrop of this UNESCO World Heritage Site, unforgettable moments unfolded that moved audiences and artists alike. The classical music festival combined musical excellence with more than 5,500 hours of voluntary work in the run-up to the event.
The concert series was produced to a high standard for television by Kinescope Film GmbH. It will be broadcast from the end of September and throughout October at various times, and will then also be available in the online libraries of ZDF, ARTE, DISNEY and 3SAT:
