Nadezhda Karyazina graduated from the Russian Academy of Theatre Arts in Moscow. She has won several prizes, including at the Operalia Competition and the Savonlinna Opera Festival International Competition; she also received the Austrian Music Theatre Award for Best Young Artist. From 2010 onwards, she attended various masterclasses as a member of the Young Artists Programme at the Bolshoi Theatre and took part in the Jette Parker Young Artists Programme at the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden in London, where she made her debut as Maddalena (Rigoletto).

From 2015 to 2020, she was a member of the ensemble at the Hamburg State Opera, where she performed roles including Suzuki (Madama Butterfly), Cherubino (Le nozze di Figaro), Rosina (Il barbiere di Siviglia), Hänsel (Hänsel und Gretel), the Second Lady (Die Zauberflöte) and in the title role of Carmen. She made her debut at the Bavarian State Opera in 2020 in the production Seven Deaths of Maria Callas by Marina Abramović. At the 2023 Munich Opera Festival, she played Ino in the new production of Semele and Emilia in Otello. In the 2023/24 season, she will sing Xenia’s nurse in Boris Godunov.
