With its fairytale silhouette and timeless connection to the world of Disney, Neuschwanstein Castle provides a unique setting for an extraordinary concert evening dedicated to the magic of Disney. Against this iconic backdrop, the Munich Symphony Orchestra and the Munich Motet Choir, together with internationally renowned soloists, will present a selection of the most popular Disney pieces – from classics to contemporary film scores. The programme takes the audience on a journey through the world of Disney, spanning from ‘Sleeping Beauty’ and ‘Mary Poppins’ to ‘The Little Mermaid’ and ‘Beauty and the Beast’, right through to ‘Frozen’.
Atmospheric lighting on the castle walls enhances the interplay of music, architecture and landscape, promising an evening full of magic and emotion.
The musical direction is in the hands of Matt Dunkley – a multiple Grammy-nominated conductor and one of the leading film music orchestrators, whose credits include “Cruella”, “Pirates of the Caribbean” and “Mufasa: The Lion King”. The evening’s soloists include exceptional artists who have made their mark on the Disney world on international stages:
Christine Allado – Grammy-nominated and known for her roles including Esmeralda in the West End concert premiere of Disney’s “The Hunchback of Notre Dame” and as a member of the original cast of “Hamilton” in London’s West End. Trevor Dion Nicholas made musical theatre history as the original Genie in Disney’s “Aladdin” (West End and Broadway) and impresses with his extraordinary stage presence and stylistic versatility.
Dean John-Wilson is one of the leading performers of London’s West End, internationally recognised for originating the title role in Disney’s Aladdin as well as for acclaimed performances in Miss Saigon and The King and I.
Laura Dawkes wowed audiences as Anna in Disney’s “Frozen” in London’s West End and is also known to millions of viewers worldwide through the recording “Frozen: The Hit Broadway Musical” on Disney+.
