Jonathan Tetelman has quickly established himself as a major star of his generation. Critics praise his “golden tone with fluid phrasing, tenderness, and passion in equal measure” (Gramophone) and his “voice that carries all the Italian passion (…) without sacrificing elegance or finesse” (Financial Times). Born in Chile and raised in New Jersey, the tenor continues to delight audiences on the world’s greatest stages.

In the 2024/25 season, Jonathan Tetelman will make his highly anticipated Vienna State Opera debut as Turiddu in Cavalleria rusticana under the baton of Nicola Luisotti. He will also make his Los Angeles Opera debut as Pinkerton in Mario Gas’s production of Madama Butterfly. He will later perform this role under the baton of Kirill Petrenko at the Festspielhaus Baden-Baden and in concert performances at the Berlin Philharmonie. The tenor returns to the Deutsche Oper Berlin in the title roles of Don Carlo and Werther, and to the Ópera de Las Palmas as Luigi in Il tabarro and Roberto in Le Villi. Tetelman makes his debut at the Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia in concert performances of Tosca under the baton of Daniel Harding. Other highlights include his return to the San Francisco Opera as Don José in Carmen and to Munich as Macduff in Martin Kušej’s production of Macbeth.
