The Swiss ensemble CHAARTS sees itself with a wink as the largest string quartet in the world, because it works like a string quartet. Excellent musicians from all over the world come together to develop their programmes in rural seclusion at the legendary Künstlerhaus Boswil (Canton Aargau/Switzerland). Members of established string quartets, solo wind players from leading European orchestras and award-winning freelancers form a close-knit team that has the attitude of a band, always gives the music unbridled power and stands for electrifying concert experiences. 

Music from the 17th century to contemporary music with a broad stylistic spectrum is often combined by CHAARTS into spectacular, often thematic programmes according to the motto ‘the big small and the small big’. For example, a Beethoven symphony is performed with just five musicians, a harpsichord suddenly appears in Stravinsky’s programme or a legendary jazz ballad forms the finale of an “actually” classical concert. CHAARTS recently performed with a rock band in front of thousands of fans in Zurich. 

CHAARTS performs with musicians such as Martha Argerich, Vilde Frang, Ian Bostridge, Giovanni Sollima, Mischa Maisky, Roby Lakatos, Fazil Say, David Orlowsky, Simon Höfele, Jonian Ilias Kadesha and the King’s Singers in the best concert halls from Salzburg to Hamburg, from Vienna to Zurich.  

With his albums “Felix Klieser 2021” and “Regula Mühlemann 2022”, they climbed the classical music charts several times with top positions in various countries. The album “Fairy Tales” with Regula Mühlemann received the prestigious OPUS Klassik 2023 award, which was presented in Berlin in October.
