Brit-Tone Müllertz

Brit-Tone Müllertz received her vocal training at the Royal Danish Academy in Copenhagen. Further studies led her to Tonny Landy, Klaus Lewinsky and Eva Johansson . She made her Wagner debut in the new production of Der Ring des Nibelungen (conductor: Dennis Russel Davies, director: Uwe Eric Laufenberg). From 2013 to 2015, she was a member of the ensemble at the Landestheater Linz in Austria, where she sang Freia, Sieglinde, Gutrune and the 3rd Norn. She was particularly successful in her debut as Sieglinde in Die Walküre (nominated for Young Singer of the Year 2014 by the theatre magazine OPERNWELT). She also sang Rosalinde in Die Fledermaus , 1st Lady in Die Zauberflöte under Franz Welser – Möst and Tosca at the Landestheater Linz.
In 2016 she made her debut as Senta in Der fliegende Holländer (conductor: Michael Balke, director: Sten Ni classon) at Opera på Skäret in Sweden and was heard for the first time in Wagner’s Wesendonck Lieder at the Tivoli Concert Hall in Copenhagen and at the St Magnus Festival on the Orkney Islands.
In December 2016, the soprano celebrated a great success at her German debut in Munich as Sieglinde and Gutrune in the Ring in one evening (conductor: Kirill Karabits) at the Philharmonie am Gasteig. In January 2017, she made her debut as Venus and Elisabeth in Wagner’s Tannhäuser (conductor: Felix Bender, director: Michael Heinicke) at Chemnitz Theatre.
In April 2017, she made her debut at the Salzburg Easter Festival as Ortlinde in an NP Die Walküre under Christian Thielemann and was also heard in this production in Beijing under Jaap van Zweden. In May 2017, she took over Sieglinde in Wagner’s Die Walküre (conductor: Patrick Lange) at short notice at the International May Festival in Wiesbaden.
She made her debut at the Cologne Opera as Elisabeth in an NP Tannhäuser (conductor: Francois Xavier Roth, director: Patrick Kinmonth) in autumn 2017. At the same time, she took over the title role in the premiere of an NP Tosca at the Meininger Staatstheater at short notice, where she also made her acclaimed debut as Ariadne in an NP of R. Strauss’ Ariadne auf Naxos in 2018. (Nominated as Young Singer of the Year 2018 by the trade journal OPERNWELT). She made her debut at the Semperoper Dresden in 2018 in Die Walküre under Christian Thielemann.
At the Wartburg in Eisenach, she has sung Elisabeth every season since 2018 and Venus in Tannhäuser (Dresden version) since 2019. At the Bayreuth Festival guest performance in Abu Dhabi in 2019, she sang Helmwige in Die Walküre under Markus Poschner and made her debut at the Bayreuth Festival in 2021 as Ortlinde in Die Walküre (conductor: Pietari Inkinen). At the Rued Langgaard Festival in Ribe in 2021, the artist made her debut as Kundry in Parsifa l . In 2022, she sang Sieglinde and Gutrune in Der Ring in one evening at the Gasteig in Munich, the Meistersingerhalle in Nuremberg, the Berlin Philharmonie, the Festspielhaus Baden-Baden and the Laeiszhalle in Hamburg. She will also sing Senta in Der fliegende Holländer at the Staatstheater Meiningen and Venus and Elisabeth again at the Wartburg in 2022 and will return to the Bayreuth Festival as Ortlinde in the new Ring (conductor: Cornelius Meister).
As a concert singer, she sang Strauss ́ Four Last Songs at the Musikverein Vienna (conductor: Dennis Russel Davies), Beethoven’s 9th Symphony at the renowned festival Konzerte im Fronhof, Wagner’s Wesendonck Lieder (live broadcast by Danish Radio), G. Mahler’s Rückertlieder at the DR Koncerthaus (live broadcast by Danish Radio) and at the Konzerthaus Berlin.
Her plans include Sieglinde and Gutrune in the Ring on one evening in the Liederhalle Stuttgart, the Gasteig Munich, the Meistersingerhalle Nuremberg, the KKL Lucerne, the Berlin Philharmonie, the Festspielhaus Baden-Baden, the Kuppelsaal Hanover and the Laeiszhalle Hamburg. She can also be seen again in 2024 as Ortli n d e in Die Walküre in Bayreuth.
